Seriously people, how many kids lives do we have to put in danger before everyone sobers up? Alcohol is not a good mix with children. If you're gonna drink, lock yourself in a closet.
Here is the drunk 911 call. The call appears to have been made by the toddler's father, Michael Bargeron, of Palm Bay.
The caller told the dispatcher his son had fallen into a fire about 20 minutes prior and the boy's mother took him to the hospital, but he did not know where it happened. He began the call by asking if the dispatcher had heard any reports of a 3-year-old being burned.
"Are you serious? I can't sober up," the caller told the dispatcher when she told him to sober up and find out where his son was burned.
When asked for his name, the caller said, "I'm not going to fall for that trap."
Palm Bay police said Bargeron was drunk at a party and began wrestling with his son near a fire pit. Witnesses told investigators the boy fell into the fire and Bargeron did nothing to get him out.
"He fell. He fell into the fire," the caller said when describing what happened. "Not completely into the fire, but he fell.
The boy's mother rescued him from the flames and took him to the hospital where he was treated for severe burns.
Bargeron, 24, was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.
